This page will list my kit list, what I had to buy, what I ditched or sent home, and the  best items to have with me as the journey progresses. My 'reflections' post describes some of the kit I'd think diffferently about now, having done the trip.

When I packed the panniers on 29th August, here's what I put in.

Camping

I left the camping equipment in Bristol after my first week, choosing to book myself into B&Bs on the nights I was planning to camp.

Cycling
Trail first aid kit
Two spare inner tubes
Compact toolkit (in black canister)
Compact pump
Lezyne Power Drive XL rechargeable front light with USB re-charging cable
Kryptonite New York D-Lock and Kryptoflex cable

I acquired a bottle of chain lube, a paint brush, three sets of brake blocks, and two inner tubes, two cheap short bungee cords, and a cheap cycle lock on my travels.

Cycling Clothes

1 long sleeved cycling jersey
2 short sleeved cycling jerseys
1 pair cycling shorts
1 pair bib shorts
1 pair arm warmers
1 pair leg warmers
1 Buff
 2 pairs cycling socks
1 waterproof cap
1 pair Sealskinz all weather cycling gloves

2 cycling waterproof jackets (one with detachable arms to create a gilet)
Cycling glasses

I bought waterproof cycling overtrousers, a pair of waterproof show covers, a long sleeved base layer, three pairs of cycling socks, two pairs of waterproof cycling gloves whilst on the trip.

I lost my waterproof basball cap, sadly.

I lost my personal Blackberry, and regretting bringing the work Blackberry. I acquired an iPhone, and bought several new maps.

Food
